Preview of Things to Come: 'From Union to Empire - Essays in the Jeffersonian Tradition'

The "Mom Factor" reviews will start again next week (week of July 10th) with the "American Express Mom" (I am about 60% done with that review when last week's "Beach/Kayak Season / Nana's Party Playhouse" hit)

Here is a clip from the intense "From Union to Empire" book that rang true with me today:

".. Through most of American history the conservative force of our society has been the great mass of sensible, productive, and self-respecting lower-middle class and middle class citizens with a decent awe for inherited principles. The radical and undermining forces have been the alienated intellectuals and privileged, self-appointed aristocrats cut off from the mainstream of American life, whether .. abolitionists, progressives or liberals, who cared neither for republicanism, constitutionalism or federalism, but for their own abstract panaceas and their own powers..."

Written in 1969

15 pages in to this 343 page book .. I might wrap this up by Firearm Deer season in MI 11/15/2017
